Triangle Awarded Contract for Peace Center Renovations
Triangle Construction Company of Greenville has been named the general contractor for the newly-announced $21.5 million expansion and renovation project for the Peace Center for the Performing Arts.
Work on the projected 18-month project will break ground in Spring 2011 with the theaters shut down only for a brief period during the summer.
Renovations will include:
• Tripling the size of the lobby areas
• New Patron Lounge and outdoor terrace
• Redesigned Reedy River Promenade, including the TD Pavilion
• Renovations of Huguenot Mill
In the spring of 2010, Triangle completed a high profile project directly across Broad Street from The Peace Center - the Main@Broad project. Main@Broad includes the Courtyard by Marriot hotel, the Nantucket Seafood Grill, commercial and office space, and a parking garage.
Triangle was founded in 1947 and it’s resume includes a number of milestone Greenville projects including the original terminal for Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (1961), the Greenville County Museum of Art (1972), the Greenville County Library (1968), the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (2000), and Falls Park on the Reedy (2005).
