The Herring Center for Continuing Education will meet LEED certification standards for energy efficiency. It will serve as the home of five different Furman University continuing education departments: the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Furman (OLLI), Bridges to a Brighter Future, Center for Corporate and Professional Development, Learning for You, and undergraduate evening studies.

Groundbreaking for the 20,000 square-foot Herring Center was held August 25. Architect for the project is McMillan Pazdan Smith. Construction should be complete by September 2012.
